Christmas in the Kitchen

 Good morning!
One of my favorite rooms to decorate for any holiday is our kitchen... The hutch gets a lot of Christmas Love!
A plate stand by the sink filled with Christmas and vintage farm goodies..
the galvanized tiered tray mainly sits on the end of the counter ...but sometimes takes center stage on the table..
It is filled with so many wonderful vintage pieces!

Lots of stitched pieces on display... Tis  the Season, Country Cottage Needleworks.. Santa on the tray is Prairie Schooler.. and my chalk to cross stitch collaboration with Hands on Design, Let It Snow Bungalow
today those counters will be filled with cookies!
here are some of last years cookies...
This wreath hangs on the basement door.. Wonderful Time of Year .. Country Cottage Needleworks
The chalkboard that gets changed out for the seasons on the wall into the kitchen..
I love vintage scales ...and there are 2 in the kitchen..

There are wreaths in each window...
the chalkboard tree sits on a vintage crate next to the hutch ...I love my kitchen ..if I could just convince my husband to paint the cherry cabinets it would be perfect! :)
Time to get the cookies baked!
Thank you so much for all your visits and comments!

Americana and Snowy Tree

 Good morning!
The other 2 trees in the family room are the American tree and the snowy tree..They are on the sides of the Craig's list hutch I got last month...
The snowy tree is a 4 foot tree that I have sitting on a vintage picnic basket .. I added white lights and stuffing for the snow...
red and white berries, snowflakes, and another picnic basket standing up to hide the stand..
Ronnie on her perch...

the Americana tree is filled with all things red, white and blue...

Flags and a metal star for the tree topper... red gingham ribbon woven through the tree and some wood star garlands...Instead of a tree skirt I found this flag painted board at a church rummage sale this summer and i fits perfect!
I love this area of the family room ....and can't wait to get the hutch painted!

The Family Scrapbook Tree..

Good morning!
The family scrapbook tree is one of the 4 in the family room.. yesterday I showed you the snowman tree and this one sits on the other side of the fireplace..
All the photo ornaments my kids made at school over the years are on this tree ..
along with all the wallet size photos and some of our favorite pictures..
For the ones I made I covered cardboard with scrapbook paper and added ribbons and buttons.. I think I am going to make a bunch more this year in a different style to break it up more.. The kids all love this tree ...it rotates so it is covered front and back with the ornaments.I bought this tree at Hobby Lobby( after Christmas sale for $13.00) many years ago ..it is prelit so every year I worry that it won't light up!
I made the topper from patterned cardstock ..using the score and fold method ..then gluing the ends together , makes a rosette.. A heavy cardboard tube from a roll of decomesh sits in between the 2 rosettes so that it can slip on the top branch of the tree... The chalkboard that hangs on the wall into the kitchen and a view of the fireplace and the 2 trees.. I made the tree skirt from ripped strips of muslin that I glued onto a tree skirt shaped piece of felt ..

Thanks so much for stopping by and all of your sweet comments!

The Snowman Tree

 Good morning!
Here is the snowman tree .. one of the 4 trees in the family room..

It is filled with all snowman ornaments.. and a few snowflake ornaments.. This year I used the flocked tree that was in our living room in previous years.. this is a prelit tree from Walmart..
Lots of stitched ornaments, Prairie Schoolers, Country Cottage Needleworks and Little House Needleworks..
I made the little snowman from warm and natural batting.. and embroidered his face..
The tree topper is from an old snowman my sister in law had given me where the bottom would no longer stand...so he got new life on top of the tree.. I crocheted a big long scarf that is woven through the side of the tree.. This tree stays up through January since it is all snowmen..
love those Prairie Schoolers! Thanks so much for your visits and comments!
The whole house tour is below if you haven't seen it!

The Plaid Tree and The Foyer..

 Good morning!
We are in the foyer today with the Plaid tree.. This tree is a 4 foot tree, and it is sitting in a thrift store basket on a stool from the Flea market..
The plaid ribbon is woven through the tree and is the tree topper.. ornaments with plaid trim and white deer ornaments from the Dollar tree take up most of the tree.. Icy picks, and cotton branches are also included..

By the front door is a tree with mini glass ornaments sitting in a vintage galvanized bucket..

On the table is a lantern with a lantern topper I made from greenery, cotton branches , Christmas floral picks and ribbons..A Dept. 56 Santa ...some Dollar Tree ornaments and a little stitched Chalkboard piece..
The wrought iron basket holds a couple Santa's ..pine cones and greenery .. The sign Chelsea made from a gift bag sits on top of the basket .. On top of the green cabinet is a fabulous Santa I got at an Estate sale a couple years ago.. stitching and Dept. 56 Santa's ..and a vintage scale..I made the red JOY sign from craft store wood letters and glued to a red painted board.. The JOY on the stairs is also made from wood craft show letters..a stack of thrift store picnic baskets sits with a glitter house on top.. A little Christmas tree shaped chair also has a  glitter house on top!
